The Mill Creek range just outside of Kansas City seemed more like Dodge City on a Saturday night as the shots were flyin' everywhere, thanks to Mother Nature.
For Saturday's 100-200, temps topped 85 and winds were 20-25 mph. with the occasional gust to 30-ish. For Sunday's 300 yd. event, temps were a bit lower and winds were around 25 mph with the heavier stuff over 40 mph. All in all, pretty standard Mill Creek conditions for April.
Tim 'Feet Don't Fail Me Now' Henderson hotfoots it back to the firing line, hoping to defeat the wind with sheer speed. It must have worked, as Tim won the 100-200-300 Grand in Hunter.
A view down the firing line. Guns were covered and towels stuffed everywhere to keep the Kansas soil out.
Mike Bigelow (lt), Jason Stanley (center) and Don Crunk (back to camera) discuss the subtle techniques needed to shoot well in sporty conditions.

Looking down to the 300 yd. berm (rt. side). Berm on the lt. side is behind the 200 target frames. The Kansas River winds around the range just beyond the trees.
I had taken some pics of the results sheets, but most came out pretty blurry. Rather than missing someone, I'll just post these pics for now and update the results later.
Thanks very much to Ron Shulz and the entire Mill Creek range for hosting these events. Mill Creek is always a hoot to shoot!
