Metal spraying

A friend of mine who is actually a micro engineer and a field varmint shooter is sleeving a rem 700 action with an aluminum sleeve wants to metal spray it with brass. I am not sure the brass will not reticulate when it cools and contracts when placed over aluminum. Are there any metallurgists out there who might be able to shed some light on this possibility. I think a receiver that looks as if it was made from polished brass might look good but is it a practical solution.

Andy, I believe you re correct. However Anodizing can be done in almost every or any color. Surely he could find I brass "looking" color. Since the sleeve is going to be aluminum looks like what he wants, is for it to look like Brass.

Your friend need to Spray one coat of self-etching primer onto the brass surface. By making sure the area is well-ventilated. Than paint the brass with spray paint after the primer is dry. Apply a spray clear coat to the surface only when the paint is dry.
