Matches at Hawk's Ridge finished!

OK, I'll ask the dumb question...

What happened after the last match that could possibly lead to safety issues?

email me the answer if necessary...

Hope you guys find a venue and get this worked out!

We'll always welcome you funny-talkin' guys at the Williamsport range :) Hope to see you at the World Open July 11/12!

Joel, leave that beast at home please :)

Gee, Jason, I forgot you were special. The rest of us are curious too, but have more or less honored the requests to just let things be. But since you're such a special person, I guess I'll have to tell.

What happend was that a spaceship landed on the farm after the shooting was done. I suppose they were a bit miffed, because it is very hard to find a flat spot to land even on the edge of the North Carolina mountains.

Anyway a couple of obviously alien life forms got out, and using a device that allowed communication, informed us that if IBS matches were to continue at Hawks Ridge, they were going to "locate and remove" one Jason Baney.

Well, you can imagine how we felt. We started out thinking that threats aren't going to influence us. Anybody kidnapped will get a memorial service, but we sure aren't going to pay any form of ransom.

And nobody knew you too well. We didn't even know if you'd leave a wife & kids -- but then someone mentioned that, well, I think he's young, and even if he doesn't have any wife & kids yet, he probably would somewhere down the road. We gotta think about them.

And as everybody knows, you're special. So we caved in, and agreed to stop shooting IBS matches at Hawks Ridge.

Anyway, that's the story. I know it doesn't quite agree with my Post #7 in this thread, but it is a much better story, don't you think?

I have talked to Scott Fletcher and Joel Pendergraph, and I will be notified when details are confirmed about future matches for the NC 1000 yd. shooters association. I will post the info on the home page of our web site.www.nc1000ydshooters.com.

Thanks

Jason,

This is not quite true. There were 3 aliens that came out of the ship. I beamed down to HR after I picked up their descent on my hysteresis-tuned lepton-fueled doppler radar loop with quark warp capabilities. You escaped being "invaded" by one vote. Charles had the tie breaker. Consider yourself very lucky.

All jokes aside guys ,one of the things on my Bucket List was to shoot an IBS match at Hawks Ridge one day.. Shooting at a range in Australia that is the smallest and the one that is the most isolated ,one can only dream of competiting against the famous names that i have read about over the years at what i considered to be a famous location ..I think the 2 icons of IBS and HR is what i will personally miss ,but hey life goes on ..Looking forward to reading about all the new ventures..JR..Jeff Rogers

Hi Jeff,

I hope your reference to the Bucket List was general and not due to your recent health issues. Might I suggest you realign your list to the IBS Nationals?

If shipping guns over is a problem, rest assured we'll be happy to supply you with creditable rifles, like we did for Stuart Elliot & Alan Peake. Stuart shot Bill Shehane's rifles, and Alan doubled up with me.

Finding the rich guy to spring for the plane trip we leave to you.

Charles
