I have a xhair with the 1/16" dot it's a little small for my eye but the scope performs flawlessly. Next one will be 1/8" dot only because I don't think the difference in dot size at 1k is going to make me more accurate I also think it'll be easier for my eye to see the 1/8".

BTW, March have a 3/32 dot size out now which is obviously between the 1/16th and the 1/8th. I have these scopes but have yet to take a photo of that dot size for comparisons.

You want first hand experience, get out and shoot with a 1/16 dot, an 1/8 dot, a fine crosshair (my favorite), and just a dot floating in the middle without a crosshair at all, a dot floating in the middle with the crosshair 1 moa on all sides, a mildot, a Horus, a duplex and several others.
For me, a fine crosshair is the easiest to use. Those stinking dots always seem to float around the ten ring, and for my eye, are very hard to use. You have to have some way of trying before you can decide what you like.
What if you never used a dot and decide to go that route based on what everybody else likes, and then you hate it?

I do not like dots so I ordered my March with a FCH. At the time there were not many options but I didn't need many. I have sent all my Leupold 45x comp. scopes that had a dot back to Leupold for dot-lectomy's. I just don't like dots and I have tried to like them but just can't get used to them.

as you can see some like dots and som dont...I have used both and like a regular/fine CH....if you were aiming at the same exact spot over and over and using a circular bulls-eye for the aiming point then it might be usefull...but I am all over the target esp. the 10 ring and a dot makes it difficult for me to hold .020"-.030" for a lil let up or push at 100-200yds and divvicult to go up or over a half a ring or six at LONG distance....just me ...Roger
