Lube for neck turning

My experience turning necks is that Mobil 1/ STP is too messy; Imperial sizing wax does not have enough lubricity and the mandrel gets hot. As the big bad wolf was heard to say, RCBS Case Lube II is "just right". It is so slick that the mandrel does not get hot and it is easily wiped off with a dry, clean cloth. Back when I was a young man and building two stroke racing engines, I learned that castor oil has a castoristic that no other oil has. It has a tendency to flow toward the heat. Go to your box store or RX store and buy a bottle of castor oil. Nothing better. Belive me. If not just keep spending a bunch of money on the other stuff.

When I was little,That would have been a few years behind Donald, They used to keep a bottle of Castor Oil in the Medicine Cabinet. It was used for constipation. A table spoon full,with a couple drops of lemon juice,would get things moving. It has a tendency to flow towards the blockage.

Donald, I remember smelling castor oil at Midget races coming from the offey engines in the 1950's dirt tracks. A sweet smelling, sounding and running engine.

Been there, I think that castor oil was the first 2 words that I learned to spell. When I would see Mom coming with the bottle and a spoon, I was looking for a place to hide.

I, too, am from the castor oil generation. This stuff would cure any disease. When I felt so bad that I could not go to school, my mother only had to retrieve the castor oil bottle to get me to the bus in a hurry. A miracle cure is what I call this wonderful elixir. Also, when mother was merciful she would mix the medicine with orange juice.....turned me against orange juice. Good shooting...James
