I have a cr&pj hart rifle with 2 barrels 6mm and a custom cail. With custom made dies looking for help on value thanks Derek

Then you should probably sell it to the person who told you that. While you're on site you might want to look at the classifieds and see what current benchrest rifles are selling for. You would be very fortunate to get the $1000 Dusty mentioned........................ Now that I've seen the pics, I would definitely sell the scope separately. I won't speculate about the value of the scope, but I'll still say you will be fortunate to get $1000 for the rifle without the scope.

I need to find someone local to help me I was told the scope is worth almost a $1000
 
Thanks everyone so far though this was my dad's he past away 21 yes ago I'm guessing this gun is at least 30yrs old
 
It IS a neat old gun. The scope may fetch $6 to $700 to thr right person.
 
That is a Hart Sleeve on a Remington action, shot two for years, what you have to figure out whether it is a 700, 600, 720, or a 40X action. Judging by the picture, it is not a 600.

Its an older sleeved 700 with a custom stock worth about 500 to 700 depending on condition
It has a BV 20 Made by Unertle scope on it.
One just sold in the classifieds for about 400 All together with scope its worth $900 to $1100 to a collector.

Find out what action it is, it does not, according to the bolt handle, appear to be a 600 action. Look in the bottom of the action, where the magazine would be, and see if it is solid. If so, you are lucky enough to have a 40X action, but not likely. If there is a aluminum follower where the mag should be, it is probably a 700 or a 720 action, not sure of the difference. Next, check the bolt face and see what extractor is being used. A lot of bolts had M-16 extractors put in, but if you are real lucky, you have a Beeson bolt, but again not likely. Or you could send me close-up pictures of the rifle at bill.gammon@rogers.com
I had a sleeved 700 that Clyde Hart built back in the late 70's with a Beeson bolt and a Hart barrel on it that was poison, but that is another story.
 
Yea i was throwing $1000 out there because i thought it was a hart action not a sleeve. Sorry bout that. It is a very neat nice gun with good history- you ought to keep it and shoot it. Im sure its worth more than the money youll get
 
I sold a Unertl 36X scope for Bonnie Cornelison years ago for $750 and even longer ago a Hart Rifle Barrel sleeved 700 with bolt bushed for a PPC with m-16 extractor that was glued into a McMillan LV stock for $400. The rifle and scope will be worth more to a collector than to someone who wants to compete. I'd suggest putting both either separately or together on gunbroker with a reserve price that you want for the combination. All it takes is for two people to get in a bidding war for it to bring more than it's worth. As Dusty said for $2500-4000 you can buy a rifle that has modern technology and can be competitive. It could be worth that to the right person, but probably not.
