Debating paying the extra $100 for the VX III. Any thoughts?

Not aware of a VX3 in 6-18.......

I'll say it differently: Leupold does not make a 6-18 in VX3.

I believe the reticle suspension and adjustment system is supposed to be fancier and more stable and consistent in a VXIII. At leats that is what Leupold repair assistance says. Peter

The older VX II 6 x 18 have 50 yard Parallax. I have used one on my 7mm remmag for years. It has target knobs, and was mostly used for long range hunts, off a rest. Great scope I must say. I have taken deer from 25 yards to 403 yards with 150 grain Ballistic Tip hand loads, and sent many a groundhog to critter heaven at extreme distance, using 100 gr Sierra. I also used it on my IR5050 Sporter for an entire season. Hard to imagine any scope being that versatile. If I see a good buy on another, I would buy it just to have a spare that will work on anything I shoot.
