The Michigan State Championship match was held At Holton Gun Club on July 31 and August 1, 2021. Victor Potts started off strong by winning the 100 yd LV with a .2024 agg. Second place was Dale Dillingham (.2218) and third place Kip Jones (.2240). Small group for the yardage was shot by John VanMiddelkoop (.111).
The switchy morning winds only intensified in the afternoon for the HV 100 competition. But Vic Potts was on a roll and could not be caught by those trying to better his morning performance. Vic shot a .2078 agg in the afternoon to win the HV competition too. Second place was Bob Hawkins (.21640 and third was Kip Jones (.2380). Small group for the afternoon in some very switchy conditions was shot by Vic Potts (.111). Notice that Kip Jones won third in both Saterday events?
Sunday morning HV at 200 yds. started like a lamb, but built up like a roaring lion. By the 5th relay, folks were shooting lots of groups over 1 inch. Steve Turner held it together for the win by shooting a .2617 agg. Second place went to Ted Heindselman (.2928) and third to the man to watch, Kip Jones (.2992). Small group for the morning was shot by Lee Hachigian (an amazing .321) in some really tough conditions.
The afternoon LV 200 yds. was indescribably tough. There were even some 2 and 3 inch groups. Ken Hottenstein held it together for the win with a very respectable .2701 agg. Second place went to the "Dominator" Dominic Grunas (.3042) and third to, you guessed it, Kip Jones (.3106). Small group for the afternoon was a .205, shot by the "Dominator".
After the dust had settled the LV Grand Aggregate went to Kip Jones with a very respectable .2673. Second went to Ken Hottenstein with a .2830. And, third place to Dominic Grunas with a well earned .2890.
The HV Grand went to Ted Heindsellman with a .2666 agg. Second place went to none other than Kip Jones with a very close .2686. Third place went to Steve Turner with a .2931 agg.
Bringing it all together for the 2 gun win was Kip Jones with a very decisive .2680 agg. Second place honors went to Ted Heindselman with a .2947 agg. In third place was Steve Turner with a well earned .3091 agg. And Fourth place honors go to Lee Hachigian with a very steady .3230 agg.
