Increasing length of pull

Increasing length of pull - materials?

I have a BAT 3Lug in a Kelby BRFB stock. I'm shooting a 30BR. The length of pull, with no buttpad/plate, is 12.5" I would like to get this to 13.5" I have a rubber pad that gets me to 13.5, which I am using right now, however I would like to use an aluminum buttplate. I have an aluminum plate, but that makes my trigger pull 12.625(1/8" aluminum) The rubber pad is contoured and can not just add the Al over the rubber pad.

So my question/problem. I like the rubber pad in terms of asborbing some of the recoil, but like the aluminum in terms of no "grabbing" of cloth. How can I have my cake (length of pull, recoil absorber) and eat it (no cloth grabbers) too? Are there any materials that I could use as a spacer between the stock and Al plate? Are there any materials that would act as both?

Thanks in advance

easy

Go down to Wally town and buy a pair of shower slippers. I shot a .308 with one and it worked great.

Man you got a big pair, to walk around that part of the country with shower shoes on?:D

That looks like what I'm looking for (not the slippers) I might try and "grind" my buttpad to help make it smoother to start with - then add the compound. Thanks.

Stanley, make yourself a nice shiny pair of aluminum pillars and simply "stand-off" the but plate the desired distance - I did that on the original version of Al Nyhus' "LIZZARD KING", which was "screwed-up" by the original stocker - that is, cut off to a 12.5" LOP, as opposed the specified 13.5". It worked GREAT, including the pschological (head-game) value - people were always wondering if the pillars were some sort of recoil reduction gizmo - OF COURSE THEY WERE!;) RG

Thank you for all the great ideas. I will talk to a machinest and see what we can do. I have a super secret idea. If it actually works - I'll post some pictures when finished.
