This powder may be great in more than the PPC. Yesterday, I received a pound from Hodgdon for testing. It has been shown to be effective in the 6 PPC by Jim Carmichel and Lou Murdica, but would it work in the 6mm Dasher with heavy bullets?
Not having the proper data, I loaded 10 rounds with 31.5 , 31.7, and 32.0 grains to test over the chronograph. I used H4895 as a guide. The 31.7 and 32 grain loads seemed too hot, but they both shot well at 100 yards with the 105 Berger Target. I did not use wind flags, but got an excellent 3-shot group with the 31.7 gr. load. See attached picture. Good shooting ..James
CAUTION: The loads listed above may be too hot in your gun. To be safe, one should start at 31.0 grains. I measured the webb expansion and there is noticeable expansion of the 31.7 and 32 grain loads. Although the loads are accurate, one should start at a lower point and work up.
