I.B.S Texas State Championship (Denton)

Anyone still thinking about coming, there are several motels in the area of the I35 and 380 junction in Denton. I think there is a Motel 6 or 8 or whatever that had rooms for $43+/night. Anyone coming from south of 380 would be just as well off staying near this junction. All of us from Okie land staying at the Sanger Inn don't have to drive all the way into Denton. Just down to the 473 exit at the Loves Store/truck stop, which shouldn't be more than 4-5 miles.

Yep, confirmed the Motel 6 and Super 8 has lower level single and double non-smoking as of 9:00am Tues... At the I35 Hwy380 junction.
Waited to long to get a room at the Sanger Inn..

If one is driving north on I35 from Austin, how does one find the range? Can you provide directions? Thanks. :)

Left side of home page scroll down till you see Denton Matches. From this page scroll to bottom and you'll see the Denton NTSA range directions image, coming up from the South or from the North on I-35. It's real easy and convenintly located right off I-35 E side of the interstate... At the front gate, just drive on in, drive east of the shotgun trap and skeet range, the road turns North. This will in turn take you to the Rifle and pistol ranges.

Parking may get tight. But this club puts on big Gulf Coast shoots and manages.

Thought I had a gif of the map on this computer or I'd just post the map here.
Someone probably will anyway.

Coming up I35 from the south go on thru Denton. About 3-4 miles or so to Exit 472 or 473, get off onto the north bound access road. Turn right/east at the Loves Store on Milam Rd. Go about 2 miles (approx) to Trietch Rd. Turn left/north until you come to a "T", turn right/east, go about 1/8 mile, turn left/north couple hundred feet to the entrance to NTSA range. Follow your nose around the club house, etc. BRest is at the end of the road.

I see Jon beat me to it.

Well
It looks like the Red River Show Down is just about to begin.

Mr. Conley ...

Well ... I got a room at the Sanger Inn! Must have been a cancellation. You've got at least one, maybe two or three coming up from Austin. Hope you fellas have room at the benches for some Austinites. Art :)

Butch
That is my plan.
I had purchased a fixed scope with a buckys system for it but some how the rear base got lost so it looks like I won't get to use it unless I can get another base.

According to the weather channel we will have temps in the 70's - no rain - wind 5to 10 mph. Should be a good chance to try out the 30's on score targets ;) If you come in a camper - we will work out parking. Hope to see everyone at Denton. If you need help getting to the range let know. Jon has already posted start times etc. Remember - Shilen is putting on a cook out at the clubhouse on Sat evening.

The 4-H club (our target crew) has arranged for a BarBQ lunch. This is not the regular club match BarBQ guy. I have had this BarBQ once before and it was very good..

lunch

Jon,

what will lunch run? I have a few friends that have shown interest to come out to watch, and I want to give them options for lunch.

Jon ...

Any down side to taking I35 EXT 475A / Rector Road to the Range ? :)

Art,
Don't know about the Rector Rd. exit. But if you are coming from Austin, getting off I35 at the Loves Store and going east on Milam Rd is about the shortest and fastest way to go as the range is about 1.5 miles north of Milam Rd. Going this way is all paved roads until the last 1/8 mile or so.

I’d go the way Donald suggested. The weather looks to be great all weekend but there may be a lot of mud on Rector..

Weather

How's the weather there.

Looks like I am going to have to drive right thru it all to get there tomorrow.
