Its always intrigued me (yes I know what a sad life!!! ) that Hornady never seem to mix it with their non custom bullet competitors i.e Sierra,Berger and Lapua. Have they ever produced a bullet thats been up there with the VLD/popular boys or am I missing something?

Cheers Rich.K

Our group's experience is that the buggers are pachy. Some batches are screamers, others you wouldn't put down a dog with - that's 22s, 6 mms & 30s.

Thanks John, like the terminology!!! Have used them in 6.5 and most have had a good batch as shot the same as my Bergers, except a load cheaper. In a semi custom 30 cal have harvested dozens of deer with them. Maybe I have been lucky but just dont hear others talk about them??

Howdy !

Personnally speaking, I myself have yet to encounter the first bad individual or box / " lot " Hornady rifle bullet(s).
Their .224" cal 55 SX is nothing short of phenominal ! I've also very much enjoyed their .224" 75 "A"-Max for both paper
and live-varmint use, and woudl use it to cover all ranges out to 1,000 w/ my .224" cal wildcat.

As for pistol bullets, I did not care much 'atall for their 170gr .357 cal bullet.
