I have my equipment, i have a savage rifle and on a nice day i can shoot 1/2 MOA 5 shot group with my 30/06 at 100 yards. I have never done any competion shooting but I really want to do this, im 19 I live in westcliffe colorado i reload my own ammo and soon ill be attending college for gunsmithing. so any help would be much appreciated.

if you spend some time looking at the results from matches posted on THIS forum, you will not likely find a 30'06 listed.
the aurora gun club holds a club benchrest shoot the third sat of every month. there are three classes that are for non-br guns, hunter, varmit and sniper. your rifle will likely fall into one of those classes as they are for stock factory rifleswith bedding and trigger work.

the gun club is on gun club road( who would have ever thought)

Sonier,

Hook up with M. Kiess and attend some of the shoots he listed. That's the best place for you to start.

Hey Mike....how are you doing?? Haven't heard from you for a while.
