Has anyone heard from Pat Byrne

I was also wondering how Jackie Schmidt is doing and I have been Praying for all of them all in harms way.

It's 8:00 PM Saturday, we just had another big band of showers come through, that makes about 14 inches since last night.

All of the Bayous are full, The weather says that the center of the storm is practically stalled around Victoria. It's drifting slowly north east. If we get another 6 inches tonight, we might have major flooding.

Lake Charles is getting a lot of rain from the outer bands coming up from the Gulf and feeding the storm. I have a lot of friends over there. I will text Mike Guilliot and see how things are.

It's 4:00 AM, in 3 hours we have had 5 more inches of rain, it's 1/2 way up in my yard. It's pouring right now, as you can see on this radar. That big red band is right over my house just north of IH-10 on the east side.

Channel 11 just reported that we have had 25 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. And more to come.

As for Pat Byrne, he lives 1 1/2 hours Southwest of me, so everything that comes here came through there.

Jackie, I was getting ready to post to ask how you and Marian were doing? The best we have here to watch the storm with is the Weather Channel and it looks like some places like Rockport are almost gone. Where are you from Rockport. Know anything about John Horn and those guys. I guess my friend Sam Arnett is OK since he is in Lubbock. Mike Bryant is way up in the handle so he is still OK??

Texas is such a big place it can handle a storm like Harvey.

It's 9:30 AM, pouring rain again. Most of Houston is impassable. I spent two hours this morning digging a ditch from my backyard to the front to release the water.

Jerry, Rockport is about 160 miles Southwest of here, on the coast. They got the wind damage. We have been getting the worst of the rain. This was not a big hurricane for wind, nothing like Ike 7 years ago. But it's stalled, feeding off the Gulf. Worst case senario for Houston.
Here is s shot down the street. About 24 inches of water down there in the street. It's heading up our way again.

We have my late Mother in Law's house for sale, the white one in the picture, some neighbors sent us this picture a few minutes ago as the water was receding. We will probably just tear it down now.

I am fortunate. I live in a very high spot. Just two blocks over, people have a foot of water in their homes. Sometimes just a couple of feet more elevation can mean the difference between staying dry and loosing everything.

The good thing is the rain is coming in waves. It will pour for about 45 minutes, then stop for an hour or so, giving it time to recede to the low areas. Then it starts again.

Stay safe and stay in. Just passed CNN (I don't regular watch that crap ) and Al Sharpton and a jewish rabbi were urging blacks to riot TODAY.

Just down the road in Knoxville yesterday some 150 riot police in riot gear prevented a Charlottesville by a bunch of bussed in drugged up Soros terrorists that were at a Knoxville Civil War memorial. My daughter lives there and my grand daughter is holed up in Memphis on Mud Island...luckily she has 4 1911's and knows how to use them!

See it on WBIR TV

Paranoid? Me? You bet ya!!

John Horn, Scott Hunter, Chas Huckaba, Larry Baggett, Mike Bryant, and others in the North probably will get minimum rain. Just worried about Pat. Is Guillermo and Ed ok?

Guillermo lives in the same subdivision as Ed Bernabeo and I do on the East Side. He texted me, , he said things are fine on his street. I can't get Ed on the phone.

Thanks Jackie, I know, I can't spell.

Butch, if you look at the Weather Radar, this thing is ever so slowly moving North East. The Rain Bands that are hitting us are now getting up to Conroe and Huntsville, where Gary Walters, Larry Deese, and Dickey Putchowsky live.

There is as much potential for flooding up there as down here, and then it all comes right back down to us.

We have been thinking about you and your family since this started. The last time this happened you were able to get to work. Will follow this thread to see how you folks are doing. Take care.

When it rains, it pours.

The indications are now that this storm is going to take Southern turn, get back over the Gulf, and then head north east from just west of Galveston.

They are predicting another 20+ inches of rain for the next two days.

If you have been watching the news, you can see Houston is under water. Myself or either of my Brothers haven't even been to our Shop. If you want to go somewhere, you can't get to there from here.

We will see what tonight brings.

I'm 600 miles North of Houston so definitely has never been a hurricane that had much affect here. We've had a little rain in August but nothing hurricane related and probably won't be. Hope and pray for the best for Jackie and family, Pat and Vickie and others as they weather out this hurricane and its aftermath.

Jackie, you're to old to be digging ditches !!!

Like you we are surrounded by water but to this point the house is high and dry...

Thanks Butch !
