So, do they get larger the higher the number they have, or is it the other way around? Does the #2.5 size less of more than the #2?

Other way around. A 2.5 sizes the case more than a 2...

Hal is definitely correct I have a B 15 and a B 30 the 30 sizes the base of the case considerably more than the 15

BR opened up to 30 cal

each number is in one thousands with 2 being smaller than 1. 2.5 is indicating a half thousand. it is the same no matter which cartridge the die is for. 0 is harrell's starting point.
