Gateway Rifle and Pistol Club

We still use all the same stuff but we have added fans to the booths so the paint dry's quicker. It's environmentally friendly and no hazardous waste ..

Jim

PS Whens Bill going to post the scores....I couldn't make it but hear it was windy and cold

The reason I asked about the paint was someone had told me that the new stuff was a lot easier to use and was a lot more user friendly. Not long after I saw fellow spraying some body parts on Hotrod TV and was not wearing a mask. There didn't seem to be any overspray or much excess materiels flying up.

Yes, it was chilly and very windy.

I don't think you need a respirator but a surgical mask as it comes out in a baby power like spray .....It's easier to match colors and apply but it's different. You need to learn to spray it and takes longer to set up and dry ....We use downdraft booths so everything get sucked through the floor of the booth...It also adds very litte weight to a stock as it goes on thin .

The gun is gonna be a shooter, that I am sure of. The scores that I shot with it saturday surely don't show it though. Considering the fact that we had 12-14 mph winds, switchy with gusts 18-20, it was not condusive to testing a new barrel, using the ammo I had without adjusting the tuner. The paint job that Jim put on it was SUPER to say the least, it rides the bags well, and shines like a new penny! A big Thanks go out to Wayne, Jim and Bob Collins for all the assistance in getting me ready for the next season. See ya on the Range. Thumper

Wallace Putnam.....Thank you for posting the scores. It was a tough day to shoot a good score, but Ernie hung in there and won the grand agg. Nice shooting Ernie.
We are shooting the first IR50/50 match at the Manatee gun club on Jan 23rd and will start sign up at 9Am. For those that have a distance to travel, we are starting the match at 10AM. Hope to see you there. Nice weather is on order. DJB
