I set it up with a 29" inch long 6mm 1-8 Krieger in 6BR to start with, .135 throat.
Shehane Tracker stock.
Bat M Action, R-L-R. 20 degree rail.
Jewell Trigger
Valdada 36x in Kebly Double Rings.
My own snubber tuner, 6 ounces
I have a 8-32 NXS Nightforce too, but the Rifle goes over 17 Pounds with it.

I'm still waiting on my 7mm (284) reamer.

This should be a fun gun.

Wow, Nez. As a short range Group and Score Shooter, that's sort of the deep end of the pool for me.

I plan on getting up to Walker County this coming week end and shoot it at 400 yards. I picked up 10 pounds of Varget and a case of CCI 450 primers at The Group Nationals, and 1000 108 Berger Match bullets. I made up 75 cases, (.269 neck), yesterday.

I basically built this thing to shoot the 400 yard Claybird Matches at Walker County. And of course, to have fun with.

You shoot that beauty at 1K you may never go back. Before you know it you will be shooting with the US F Class team competing all over the world.

Most folks set their new rifle on something soft and pretty to take a picture for the internet.

Jackie, How does the new gun shoot?

joe

Joe, I haven't had it to the range. My Mother in Law took a severe turn for the worse last week and passed away. We have been involved with her funeral.

She was a wonderful lady who had a great life that spanned 90 years.

I plan on being at the range next week end. Life goes on.

Jackie - If Y'all need anything at all just say it or send an email. Mothers are special folk....

Sooooo did you get to shoot that thing yet Jackie?

Yes sir, I shot it Saturday at 200 yards.

I started out with 29.0 grns of Varget and the 108 Berger Match, just touching. After fireforming some cases, I started tuning. I soon learned that this bullet like to be jumped, I settled in on about .020 jump. I started going up in .3 increments and hit a sweet spot at 30.3 grns. I then adjusted the tuner until I felt like it was as good as it would get.

I then shot two 5 shot groups that measured no bigger than .350. (200 yards). I then put it away to work with my revamped Rail Gun. Late in the afternoon, the conditions really got good, so I dug it out again, and shot three groups that I consider quite good.

I didn't set my Chronograph up, as I forgot the stand, so I have no idea what the velocity is. But around 30. grns of Varget is a pretty popular load on a 6BR with a 108. I had no pressure signs what so ever.

The Rifle performed flawlessly. The Bat M is smooth. The only problem I had was I had a 36x Valdada on it, but with the 20 degree rail, it was still shooting 6inches high at 200 when it ran out of adjustment. I put my 8x32 NXS Nightforce on, which has a lot more travel. Worked great.

I'm going to try to get to Walker County after Thanksgiving and shoot it at 400 yards. My 284 reamer will be here this week, so I plan on getting the 7mm barrel on it and see what it will do.

Mine is a one piece tuner. The black portion is a piece of hard rubber ( made out of old Tug Boat Fenders), that I bore and then press on the body of the tuner. The barrel as a 2 inch long, .900 diameter 36 TPI, the tuner screws on, and is clamped by two 8-32 socket head cap screws. It takes very little tightening of the screws to secure it firmly.

An excellent tuner that works the same way that you can buy, (Bruno Shooters Supply carries them), is the TSI made by Gene Bukys. It is also a one piece, screw on style with the rubber "snubber", and clamps with a pinch bolt.

The pictures are of mine.
