I had no problem opening the thread and/or the post you referenced. I chuckled when I read it. I'll have to think about whether or not to tell it to my wife.
As to what happened to your computer?
1) What OS?
2) What OS update/support level?
3) What browser?
4) What browser version?
I suggest a reboot and move on unless you have problems w/other images of this type. If so, then you likely have a computer and/or software problem.
Maybe someone has had the same problem and solved it and with the above info can give you a place to start looking.

It's just a common jpg file. As saved to my computer anyways.

I am sorry if you had a problem, it is just a .png (Portable Network Graphic) picture, as used by many web-page designers.
This was introduced to replace the older .gif (Graphics Interchange Format) standard although nowadays most people use .jpeg (Joint Photographic Experts Group).
I can assure you that there is no malicious content in anything that I post (I don't even know how), I just like to share anything that I find amusing or of interest to my fellow shooting friends.
