On the subject of bolt nose angle, the late Stan Ware would measure the angle on a new-to-him bolt in a slick little jig he'd machined. He gave me one to measure one day as he was going to chamber it the next day. After futzing around with it for an hour, I sheepishly admitted that I couldn't get it to come out to 30 degrees.
He smiled and said: "Nyhus, you're not entirely stupid. The bolt is a piece of s#!+"
Fixing it involved making the bolt face 90 degrees to the bolt center line and then touching up the cone area on the bolt. -Al
