opinions on Celestron Regal M2 65ED Spotting Scope

was wondering if anyone has used one and what do you think? I have a gift card at Best Buy (LOVE electronics/audio/ect) but i am wanting to use the gift card for something i can use for my benchrest shooting and of course I'm limited to what i can buy from best buy to use for that.

just a few questions

1) can you see 6mm bullet holes out to 200yds and will it be clear?
2) don't jump on me for this one just asking. how close would you say this scope is to a lower end Kowa or the gold ring leupolds?

anything else you can tell me about the spotting scope would be helpful.

holes is all about light..location of the light in
relation to the target.
the scopes is actually very good
i have the 100mm and i can almost
always see 30 cal at 1000, 6 at 600
is pretty good.
target color is the big issue..light colored target
not a dark/black .

It's a good brand

I have a 65 and a 100 Celestron, neither is ED. Both are better than my eyes are. I often look through higher priced scopes at benchrest matches and have yet to see anything else that is head and shoulders above my scopes. Also, people often look through mine and comment on how good they are.

thanks y'all. I went ahead and ordered it. After the gift card the total was $70.00 so Im sure I will be happy with that............ I hope anyway.

of course now I have to get a tripod :(

The tripod is as important as the scope....look an ebay for a used one.....that's really solid.

Got it today. Very pleased with it. I have to say it's around 70 degrees and NO mirage so I guess it should look good. The tripod I found at a flea market might not be good enough but for now it's all I need (afford). Put targets at 100 and 200 yards that has bullet holes on them and I can see them with ease. (Again no mirage).

do not shoot at black and white targets unless you have to.
ibs figured that out..white and light blue.
i have seen holes at 1000yds.

I don't get to shoot maybe 3 times a year and that's if I get to go to a match. I have no where to shoot. My only practice is the day or two before a match

Do what Francis said...maybe call Billy Stevens as well. I looked on ebay to try and find one of those things and didn't....don't know exactly what to search for as everything I searched for came up just regular old tripods.
