what weight bullets do most competiters use?i see a lot of different weights but is there a better weight for the case say 62 verses 65 ?also what is the better choice in twist in barrel rifling?

what the bullet maker sells me that is close to my "want"

It’s not a simple question or answer. There are too many variables to come up with a one size fits all answer. Bullet length may have more to do with accuracy than weight. Dan Lilja has a graph for accuracy based on altitude above sea level and the accuracy of a given bullet will go to pot or put you in high cotton at a different altitude. You just have to start at some point and test, test, test.

Yes, tooo... many variables. Jackets...cores.... The guy that operates the press lever, etc,etc.:D

IMHO, the absolute best are the ones that are absolutely the most consistent, starting with great jackets. Consistent, weight, diameter with or without drive band, and base to ogive measurement.
You find a guy that can keep those at or under a tenth and you have a heck of a good start.
 
I'll mention that the most common twist is 14 and there's way too many variables to suggest a bullet or weight of said bullet. If you find a bullet that shoots well just shoot it until you replace the barrel. Might work with that new one and it might not.
 
What ever you find

Down thru the yrs the 7 5 ojive in 243 7 dia shoots right away and longer with 63 and68s allen arnette said his rail showed 66s shot best
