Bolt Play in Action / Normal?

Is for and aft play normal in a Custom action (trigger group removed and no casing in chamber) (its a used Nesika action) maby .005 movement.
Any help on how to check a used action would be helpful.

if you

mean front to back then yes. Without any play it wont operate. I like about .005 clearance from the bolt handle to the action with no case chambered.
