At the paint shop. My design idea,”logo”. and color. Borden Stock.

From the paint shop it was mated with a Stiller Viper action,RB/LP,6PPC. One of his first runs. Low serial number.

Shilen LV.stainless select match barrel. .262NK. Fowler 66gr,FB bullets. 28.7grs, 1994 vt133.

Some of the guys that shot here in the GCR, will remember getting beat by this rifle.:D
Interesting thing about the rifle, every barrel I put on it shot great. Some better than others.

Jackie Schmidt joked one time,saying that, in the hands of a good shooter, that rifle would get you in the Hall Of Fame. I’m not in the Hall of fame. Wrong hands,I suppose.:D

Several years ago, i stopped at A Luby’s Cafeteria, with a couple of shooters, on the way back from a practice session. While we’re inside, talking BR, some crack head c…k s..ker burglarized my truck and stole the only hummer rifle I ever owned along with a brand new Viper actioned, drop port LV. in a Robertson Stock.

Glenn same thing happened to larry costa awhile back,thankfully he was able to get his back. hopefully you will get yours back.

I got parts of the Blue Light Special back, two months after it was stolen. The barreled action and March 40X scope had been removed from the other rifle and placed, unglued,in the Blue light Special stock. The stock was damaged beyond repair. Probably happened when they took the action out of the stock. The other rifle or components,including a 40X March scope are still out there somewhere.
This is just another Benchrest story,I felt like sharing. Home owners Ins, took care of me. Nothing I hate worse than a thief.

Sad to hear about the stolen rigs. Didn't Jerry Stiller have a rifle stolen down there and it turned up later in a drainage ditch?

Yep… I saw the rifle after it was recovered. Jerry told me the story, while we were watching A UFC/MMA fight at his place.:D Been so long now,I can’t remember all the details of the theft. The thief took some rifles from a vault at the Stiller Precision shop. One of the rifles was recovered from a drainage ditch in a rural area. It was in pretty bad shape from exposure to the elements. Thief didn't know what he had, The fence probably didn't want it. So its handily, dumped in a roadside ditch.That's how much its worth to a low life thief. May have to start putting drainage ditches, on the list of places to search for stolen BR rifles.:D

Way back when I was growing up thieves paid a big price for taking what was not theirs. Now days they don't do crap a little slap on the hand and they turn em loose. Had a neighbor and his brother in law was a San Francisco cop. When they had these type of folks in an elevator at the station during the booking process. They beat the crap out them on the way up along with a warning its best that we never have to pick you up for the same thing ever again.

I always heard it was like that on the way up to the jail in Oakland, Ca.:cool::cool:

The threat of Police brutality doesn’t stop thievery. Locks, alarms, Rottweilers, and good theft insurance is the best defense. :)

Those type of guns can't be replaced without a LOT of work.
No life like low life.

I can't agree :)

Killing a human is not warranted in 99.9% of cases.

I've had hundreds of thousands of dollars stolen and only "caught them in the act" twice. Which of course resulted in the things NOT being stolen.... in both "caught" cases I could have

a. shot them
b. beat them up
c. held them for the cops

Another time we had a firebombing whackjob terrorizing our place repeatedly and one time when I called them during a confrontation the police told me over the phone to "do what you gotta do to protect your family"....... within 30min they were there "to collect the body"

But FOR ME, and I think for most others, shooting someone over property isn't warranted. And having been confronted with the situation I'm glad not to have pulled a trigger.

I've friends who have pulled the trigger, it's traumatic, life-changing for a civilian. They, all but two, "wouldn't do it again."
 
So Poppa mole and Momma mole and Baby mole was moling along thee tunnel when Poppa starts to sniff.....

"hey, is that BREAKFAST I smell? Do I smell pancakes?"

Momma mole:

"hmmmm, yes, I DO smell pancakes! Pancakes and maple surple!!"

"Is that maple surple??"

"Hey there baby mole, you smell maple surple???"

Baby mole:

"hmmphhh,"

"can't smell no surple,"

"all's I can smell is mole'asses"
