The difference between the jackets used in the Hunting vs. Target bullets is thickness not hardness. The thickness effects only the bullets ability to withstand heat before the core melts.
It is my opinion based on our experiments that the Juenke checker looks at straightness and nothing more. The thickness of the jacket will have no bearing on straightness and DU will be lot specific not thickness specific.
The bullets that are part of the Hunting line (orange boxes) are exactly the same in every way as the bullets we have been making for decades. If you did not experience bullet failures to reach the target then bullet from the hunting line are just as capable of winning as any of the others.
We have only four machine and only one process. All bullet are made in exactly the same way as we have available to us no other way to make bullets.

I am shooting the 105 BT the 105 VLD and 210 BT Thicks without any changes to my loads. The weather out here is giving us fewer shooting days right now but when it clears I will be trying out some 115 VLD's and 210 VLD's as well.
I will go out on a limb here and say that the new Bergers will drop the current heavygun single group records this year.

I am shooting a 30 inch cut rifled barrel in 6mm-06 and it was having trouble getting all of the 115's to 1,000 yards.I am hopeful the Thicks will solve this problem because at 100 yards its 6BR accurate.
How fast are you pushing them and is your barrel button or cut-rifled? What length is it?

the thin 105vlds are shooting lights out but i ordered 1000 thicks and havent had a chance to test them yet.it was 91 degrees here in tx thursday and tommorrow morning it is supposed to be in the 20s.i sure am itching to get out and see what this little tiny dasher can do at 1000,but not at 20 degrees. tim in tx
I switched to the 210 "Thicks" after Christmas and I have put at least 300 downrange (most on a chrono at 1000 yds). Load, POI and velocities are all the same in my case.
For some strange reason they sort out a little more consistent than the thins in my testing. I posted the results in another thread. That could (and probably is) just a "Lot" issue but in either case I am liking the "Thicks"!
