Bench Wind Flag(feather) from the Yellow

Outstanding information and this came from the Yellow Forum?
I have been playing with wind flags for 40 years and this concept is one of the best yet!

Great idea! Serious shooters will be jumping on this one.

Great Idea...

I have used a feather on a thread attached to my Field Target Rifle for many years, Even when shooting groups on the bench. Never thought of one sitting on the bench. The EV-2 has a fold out where a feather can be attached.

I've found something that is way more responsive than the lightest feather to light and strong winds, cause it's so long and light.... and it's about as cheap as anything could ever be.. Go to a "Dollar" store, to their costume dept. They have a "hula" skirt that is made from very thin strips of plastic 1/4" wide and about 24" long. Groups of 6 or so make a nice flag tail. I bought one last summer for a buck and have given sections of it to lots of folks (and they all say it's the best thing they've ever seen), and still have half of it left. I put it on the tail of my flags and made a stand to hang some on at my bench as well, in this case and some others, it's best to cut the full lengths in half. This stuff shows the changes in wind direction long before the flags start to move. Of course being plastic, it doesn't last forever, but I seem to get a few months or more from an application.

Ya know Wayne, after meeting you last summer and seeing your shirt / hat / glasses combo, somehow the Hula Skirt idea seems fitting. I'll have to get me one of those.
