ARC 100 yd Match for Score
25 Shooters - 18 VFS, 7 Factory
Nice day to shoot and a healthy crowd of 25 today. Got a little toasty finishing up around noon but overall good conditions to shoot in. We had 7 Factory rifle shooters show up today making for a good contest. Jon Aronson was again the rifle to beat in factory class but nobody could today. Jon still gets 1st Factory with a 248-15X after he got the Yipes(!) on the last target and dropped those 2 pts. 2nd place is Craig Wallace with a 245-8X and Hal Bogatz anchors 3rd with 244-8X. Glad to see more factory guns coming out.
Tommy was the only Hunter rifle to show up so he shot with the VFS class today.
The VFS crowd got smoked and shut down today by Charles Moore with a big time 250-23X! That ties the High VFS score for the year (Larry K shot 23X previously). A tie for 2nd place between Big Steve Brown and Roger Vennard both shooting a 250-19X. Roger wins the tiebreaker so Big Steve gets 3rd.
Next month we start our summer series of 'special' matches. August we'll have a Special Club Hunter 100 yd match, September will be a Special Club Factory 100 yd match and our annual 200 yd Score Match will be in October. All rifles will be welcome at these matches.....we'll just be giving out better prizes for the Hunter and Factory categories to entice more shooters to these categories.
So tune up those Hunter rifles for August 31 starting at 10am.
