ARC - 100 yd Match for Score
16 Shooters - 10 VFS , 6 Hunter/Factory
Good match today with enough of a stout breeze to blow some targets off. Included 2 gun malfunctions, lots of good scores and a 50-5X tie for Best Target on Match 3. Only 2 Hunter rifles showed up so they were grouped with the factory rifles. Tommy Maedgen took 1st Hunter with his 249-14X. 2nd place was John Gallaher at 247-12X. Dickey Johnson was 3rd place at 243-5X.
The 1st place in VFS class was Bill Sparks shooting a 250-18X. Close behind was Don Mulhall at 250-17X while Bob Maedgen gets 3rd at 250-16X. That was a good tight competition for those 3 money spots. Match 3 produced 2 identical targets (Don Mulhall & Steve Brown) of 50-5X. Both had wipeouts on Bull #1 but all other Bulls had red from the 'X' still showing. Since this scoring was for the Best Target prize, a tie was declared with no other way to call it. They split the prize.
Grouping the Hunter rifles with the Factory rifles will have to be curtailed. Just not quite fair to the out-gunned Factory guys who have been good sports by handing over their Best Target cash to the better Hunter Custom rifles. So we'll separate them as before.
Next month, we begin our summer start time of 10 am. on May 29.
Thanks to all for a good time today.
