Asked for some help fixing website

I haven't had the problems that some have had but I think it's broken anyway. That to say this...I'm working on it.

Wilbur - I was still having this issue when I checked the forums this morning, but it appears that you have fixed whatever was causing it. This afternoon I have not had a problem. No pop-ups with spam or frozen browser.

Seems ok now but after I logged out last night and tried to log back in I would get a pop up saying I have a virus also after that when I would just open the forums page it would open a different page/web site.... even sometimes having a pop up saying something like “you have won $1000 etc etc as of 9:15 pm eastern time it seems to be back to normal. Hope everything is ok.

It's intriguing that some ran into the issue, but from the lack of comment, most like me didn't have a problem - or didn't comment.

Yes, it's a different animal than usual...I've not seen a problem on any browser I try.

Redirect Virus/Malware

Since this appears to be limited to select users and not affecting all users of the site it could be a REDIRECT VIRUS on the users computer and not associated with Benchrest Central at all.

It might be a redirect issue but we found some files that don't belong and it got a little better when those were removed.

The only times I had a redirect problem was on an iPad and clicking the "top" button at the bottom right of a thread. I would go to a windows machine and couldn't get the "redirect"???

It's ok now here??

Haven't been here much, so I can't vouch for the site's cleanliness but I don't have any problems. Knock on wood.

Something to check

Wilbur, I noticed that if you use a search engine and type in Benchrest Central in the search, what comes up is the Classifieds section.

If you use the search parameters Benchrest Central Forums, it will then bring up the home page.

Does it with I.E., Firefox, Chrome and using Google, Bing, etc. as the search engines.
