I shipped a number of heavy BR barrels last year - in some cases 3 barrels in one package!
I used the heavy wall cardboard mailing tubes you can get on-line and elsewhere. Just make sure ends are tightly packed with at least a couple inches of packing material ( newspaper works) - you don't want barrel(s) slamming around inside container. Tape ends up with strapping tape. I shipped USPS and didn't have a problem (I 've heard Fedex handles their packages under contract). Just about any other service is better than Ultimate Package Smashers...IMO.
