Action glue in help and ??

I am going to glue in my action and am scratching my head as to how do you block off the inletted area of the stock where the trigger and hanger go so that the glue/epoxy doesn't get in there? Obviously with gluing it in you cannot take it apart and remove the excess like a normal bolt in bed job, so I am wondering how to keep it out of there altogether and still get a good glue/bed job...or do you allow it to flow in there and carefully/repeatedly keep swabbing it out while it is still "runny"? I know I am probably overlooking something obvious here so don't be too hard on me. Thanks

You can make or buy a delrin block to attack to the bottom of whatever action you have. This will replace the trigger while the glue dries.

Yes, I have seen them for Remington actions but don't know if I have seen them for the customs...mine being a Nesika J action...if anyone knows of a block made for this or a similar action that would work, please let me know. Thanks

hi density foam, cut to fit action and trigger cutout, modeling clay, stuffed into trigger cutout of the stock, and left proud, so it fills action (real mess to clean it all out, but no epoxy in the way) and a delrin block that I made to fit. All worked.

I just clean it out from the bottom as it runs out. There shouldnt be much on the glue in part just lots on the bedding which youll clean out after you pop it out before actually gluing it in

Dusty, the bedding is already completed and was going to use devcon to "glue" it in...I want to be sure and get complete coverage for the final glue in, so I want to be sure and use enough...I know its kind of a guessing game, but figure more is better just to be sure. Just wondered if there was a way to eliminate the flow into the trigger inlet should I get too much..?? Do you generally put the barreled action in the vice upside down and place the stock on this way or right side up? Thanks

Once i get the top edges cleaned off i grab some of the long stick q tips and clean up the inside around where the trigger hanger goes. I am always sure to inlet enough out of that area that the glue running into that area wont run into the trigger hanger area. This extra room always helps when you have to pull the trigger at a match. Anyway i just clean all the squeeze out before it dries- no trigger, hanger or guard installed during the glue in. I know it all lines up because i make sure during the bed job.

type of glue

I haven't glued an action in since about 2008, what type of epoxy glues are being use now days?
