Hello fellas,

Does anyone how, who or if Savage accu-triggers can be replaced with a Timney, Jewel or Rifle Basix single stage triggers?

Thanks,

Jamie

Savage Trigger

I replaced my trigger with a Rifle basics last weekend myself on my Savage 12 bvss.It comes with a DVD that shows you how to do it and if you have any problems you can call them and they will help you with it.It works very well I set it at 8 ounces. It is easy to adjust. Exellent trigger for the price,

Did you have to do mods or was it a drop in? My accu trigger is at 26 oz, would like to have around 8 oz also. I have put rifle basics in rems but dont know about the savage.

The sear was a little tight so I honed it a little and polished it so it would move freely when I turned the gun over.I had to move it by hand before it was just a little sticky. That is all I had to do and it explains that in the DVD on how to do that if yours is a little tight like mine was.

I would also look into sharp shooter supply's competition trigger. Mine breaks at a crisp 12oz and was very easy to put in.
Fred also has a 2oz trigger, but you have to send him the action to be timed and trued for the trigger to work properly (the evolution trigger).
www.savageshooters.com and look up the ad for sharp shooter's supply.

I've got both the sharpshooter triggers, the one that go's down to 1 1/2 lbs and the evolution, no complaints on either, both crisp and clean, I've never had anything from fred that wasn't first class and his wife lisa is always friendly and helpful too!,,,,,,,, the 1 1/2 lb trigger is easy to install and adjust, has easy detailed instructions,,,,, only draw back to having work done by SSS is the backlog, they've always been spot on when it comes to the amount of time out too,,, but hey that just show's he's good at what he does

the wind is my friend,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Luckily I was able to schedule a trigger install by Sharp Shooter Supply on a Saturday a few years ago. Fred Moreo installed and adjusted the trigger down to about 14oz. Very nice!
