A nice day at the range

Today I visited my local range for the second time in 2020. Normally visit a couple of times a month but times have changed a bit (as most of you should realise).

What surprised me was how much one's 'eye' can be so far out due to lack of regular practice. Even looking at the wind flags and the target at the same time took a bit of effort.

Anyway, a nice day out. 30°C (about 85°F) and a twitchy shifting wind made things interesting. Missed more than I hit but lessons were re-learned (watch the bloody flags!)

No bugs locally transmitted for 45 days where I live (Victoria, Australia) so things are looking up a bit. Thank goodness that Australia is really just a big island and we have good leadership who seem to be doing the right moves.

Keep safe everybody and have a great Christmas, this is a great forum.

Enjoy your balmy sounthern hemisphere weather. It's going to be 6 months before we see those temps here on the opposite side of the world in NH.

Enjoy the weather.

I got out for the first time in months to shoot some .22lr benchrest at my clubs Christmas shoot. Won a chicken for placing second :)

The weather though floated around 0 to 1 degree celcius or 32 to 33 Fahrenheit and rain/freezing rain.

But i also noticed it took a bit to get used to looking at the wind flags while looking through the scope again.

that's what you get for your living choice. we shot a 2 day match this weekend. will be in the 80's by feb.

Tomorrow's local forecast is 29°C (84°F), sunny with light winds so plan to visit the range again tomorrow (http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/wodonga.shtml - second week in a row. Woohoo

Note to self "Watch the flags - Watch the flags -Watch the flags"

Might as well get some quality time in before the stinking hot 40°C + (100°F +) days arrive in Jan-Feb.

No local bugs in Victoria for over 50 days now so don't have to wear a mask when purchasing ammo.

All you cousins keep safe and well as I noticed that you have a bit of cold weather.

Great time to snug down and break out the reloading gear.

Best wishes from down-under and have a great Chrissy.
