788 Remington 22-250 Load help

38.0 gr H380 with a 52 gr bullet is a classic load for the 22-250. It's not a hot load, but it really shoots in my old Shilen rifle with Berger match bullets in Lapua brass. Being a ball powder, H380 measures nicely.

People badmouth the 788 about rear lugs, stretching, etc. However, they shoot very well.

Thanks Phil,
I will keep it on the lower end of the spectrum. So many people think they are ugly but I really like the rifle's look or maybe it just reminds of a simpler time and happy memories eons ago..

reduced loads will help extend your barrel life. The 22-250 is a hot rod overbore round...assuming its ok now. Good luck

The gun is in like new condition, I bought it more for sentimental reasons and will ocasionally shoot it and maybe take a yote or two.. But I agree I will keep it loaded down....Thank you
