6mm ppc

Starting with a .220 Russian case, that has been neck turned, I fill the case about half way up the shoulder with Bullseye, center up a 3/4" square over the end of the neck, and poke it into the neck with the long side of a small Allen wrench, till it is flush with the case mouth. I do this with a dedicated fire forming barrel because I do not favor shooting strings of high flame temp powder in a good barrel. Before I had a fire forming (worn out) barrel, I just loaded with 133 up to where the back of the bullet would be, and fired bullets that were in the usual weight range of a PPC.

usual weight range for 6PPC is 62-68gr

this is not to disagree with Boyd, it's because many God's chillun' ain't never know no "PPC" and might be reading this and have some old Horna'Day 80grainers to burn up.....or hunner't grain deer bullets......

don't do it :) 62-68gr bullets only, maybe some 70gr NBT's.....

Why not a bullet Butch ?

Because it will make you die...........

This is not a joke.

You can die from this.

As in really dead, no respawn.

No start over from the previous level......

I know of a famous shooter DEAD from doing this.

Reloading custom rounds like the PPC requires understanding of safety parameters, elste'wise DO NOT get your information from a shooting forum, get it from a book and do not deviate.....this process is not for children nor silly people who don't lissen.

Missed bullseye load.... yeah no pistol powder with heavy bullets.... just a regular load would be fine.

I started with home aid beeswax poured into a cake pan..... it's a lot more sticky and malleable than the bought stuff, I could iron it onto a rack of cases and peel it off all loaded. Ran out and started using pea-sized tears of paper towel and haven't looked back. When I'm firing straight up with a barreled action on a dedicated barrel (wear a leather glove!!) I use nothing at all....like Underalls.
