6mm br

given this case and a 1 / 12 twist barrel how will it work in the 100 200 and 300 yard group matches.i see that bart is making a great 80 grain bullet i belive.i thought it would buck the wind better.thoughts on this.

I've been shooting various 12 twist 6 Grendels for a few years now in UBR matches. They will shoot 68s too, so shoot what shoots best for you but I've been very competitive shooting both, 68s and 80s. It's been very good to me.

The bc advantage is real but small. If it's competitive at 100, it'll do very well at 200 but a game changer, it is not.

FWIW, the guy that invented it, as well as several ex Remington guys are still shooting the heck out of it at distance with 13.5-14 twist barrels and 66-68 grain 7-11 & 8 ogive bullets. The heavier bullets@300yards performed worse And they went back.

and...

...and Ferris Pindell said his 81 gr boat tails from a 12 twist PPC was "like cheating." I don't know if I'd go that far but if your bbl shoots the 80 class bullets well, it has a small bc advantage. TIFWIW because, I think there is more difference to be found by shooting what the gun tells you vs forcing something else thru it. Both can be competitive if they shoot well in your bbl. Done it and still am, most of the time.

In case I misunderstood....I've yet to find a 13.5 twist that will stabilize 80s but there may well be a combination of bullet, bbl, speed and conditions where it will. Pretty close, IME.
