Is or has anyone built or looked into building a 5.7x28 in a rifle , I dont know why just because ! Any way if you have what action would be used . TC, Rimfire , other . Hoping someone could answer my questions before I spend a bunch of money . Ive always wanted a reloadable 22 this may be it .

FN is going to come out with a PBR in that caliber. Model 70 short action push feed - possibly with lugs to the rear though. Was supposed to be out late 2008 but has been put off until 2010 according to current Shot Show reports.

How 'bout a .22 Jet ?

Expand necks to .224" cal ( up from .223 ).

Can be made from .357Mag brass.

Rimmed case, great for a SS like a Contender or H & R.

Just a thought.

Regards,
357Mag

I thought about a jet & even a squirrel but I hate formin brass unless you put it in & shoot it out( ackleys):)

Freedom Arms

is supposed to come out with a cartridge based on the .327 necked down to .224. Claimed velocity with a 40 grain bullet is 2250 out of a revolver.

357 necked down to?

I have a HANDGUN (canon) that is based on the .357 cartridge, necked down
to 25cal... it is the Ruger Hawkeye, in 256-Winchester Magnum(rifle Cartridge).
They only made them for a couple of years, and mine is in the low 1200series.
It sure is a NOISY little critter, and what a FIREBALL!!!
It is a single shot, based on their BLACKHAWK series, but is basicaly a
"breech-load"(like a canon), as you are loading a single bullet into the barrel.
I have cronoed some of my handloads in excess of 2700fps, and have ONE
target I shot at 100yds benchrest with 3/4inch group ( had 1 flyer ).
I don't shoot it to often, as it is more valuable as a "collector" piece, in stead
of as a "shooter".

My nephew has asked me about reloading for his new 5.7X28FN - rifle.
What size and TYPE of bullets in the 40gr area would be best to start with?
Can anyone recommed a SPECIFIC SERIA BULLET? ( like the product # )
I have done a little reading , and it seems that "Flat-Based" bullets work best.
Thank you for ANY HELP in finding a good starting bullet for him.
If you like, you may also send a "private message".
Thank you RELOADERS!!!
