i told a person earlier today the wrong info, so posting here in hopes he will see this.
IMHO the top 2 30br powers are h4198 and lt30,( not 8208 that i said)
feel free to add other powders you think are excellent in 112-118 bullets in a competition short range br rifle...

N130 has quite the following, especially with H4198 being nonexistent on the shelf. That's what I'm going to use in mine once the barrel is done.

IMO, the two best subs for H4198 are N130 and LT30. Given the money you save buying an 8lb of N130 vs same amount of LT30, N130 is a no brainer. I have tried both and see no difference in my rifle barrel.

My guess is that if H4198 ever becomes available again, they will want $400 or more for an 8lb. Ya, right!

33.6, me there is a nice flat node around there in my rifle. I never push the upper limits. I feel the lower node stays in tune longer.

I shot my 30br for the first time today. All I had on hand was some vv133. I was just going to see if I could get my scope to zero. I loaded 10 rounds and went to the beach this morning.
Loaded 35g of 133 into alpha brass shooting 108 Cline's. Shot two sighters to get on paper and shot these two groups. I was very impressed. Im sure to move on to either vv130 or lt 30 but if anything, if can get 35.5 in the case and get the horizontal out, that may change.
U was gonna load a picture but it won't load. Both the 4 shot groups were .26 and .22

It is a bit faster than N130 and LT30, but it may or may not be as accurate as the other two. You just need to try them at the range.

Shot Lt30 and V130 both shot a 5 shot one hole group at 34.5g. for one thing, I couldn't believe it. Second, Im pretty amazed of how crazy accurate and easy this has become. Im just gonna try and make some good brass and keep at it.

I got right now at this very moment 25 rds of Lt30 and 25 rds of V130. For another ladder test 34g to 36g. After this is shot, I'll see if what produced the smallest group for both and should be able to tell a difference. At this point and time with only 100 rds out my bbl. I can't tell a difference between the two. Both have shot one hole groups

you have me confused/ a ladder has a SINGLE step at each level, group has multiple rounds per level. how do you get 25 rounds from 34-36 gr ??
one hole groups are normal in 30 br..it is the size AND SHAPE of the group that counts

25 rds. 5 at 34.5 5 at 35, 5 at 35.5, 5 at 36
25 more rounds, something different powder

so when you shoot more than ONE shot of a load, it is GROUP shooting. in this case 5 shot groups.
you can test 30 br in much smaller increments... use .2 or even .1....i have done 3 shots in .1 increments going from 35 to 36 or from 34 to 35

30BR and Reloader-7

Just did some testing with RL-7 in my 30BR, and I thought it looked pretty promising. Shot around five times on a 100 yd score target to get a 100 yd agg. Was a 250 with undetermined X count as the centers was so shot up the dot was gone on each bull.
Tried 33.7 gr.,34.2 gr., and 34.7 gr all with a 113.3gr, 7s bullet on a .925" jacket. All three loads printed at the same impact point. No pressure signs with any of the loads.
If you can get your hands on some give it a try, you might just like the results.
