I have a shilen 22 br.what custom bullet make would you recommend for a 1/14 twist barrel?
barrel is 25 inches long.chamber is .252 ..

I shoot a Shilen 6BR and have always had great success with Bart's bullets. His website shows several versions of 22 cal bullets.

Gary, lots of good 22 cal. bullets out there. In my 22BR, I've had great luck with the BIB 52's and the Berger 52's.

Be aware that with the barrel being twisted 1:14, there are some bullets that will be herky for stabilizing, despite the weight being in the 50-55 gr range. I've found that once you get past a finished bullet length of around .775 in a 14 twist, stabilization begins to be dependent on the individual barrel rather than the bullet.

If you're looking towards the plastic tipped style varmint bullets, the 50 gr. BTips measure around .790 and the VMax 50's about .775. A killer good varmint bullet in a 22BR twisted 1:14 is the Nosler 40 gr. BTip that's .705 long.
