will the 22-250 AI shooting 80grs shoot 600 yrds and win..Or should I find something in a 6mm.or larger..

There is no reason a fast twist 22-250 AI should not do well in 600 yd. competition. However I would have two barrels made up at the same time as they would have a short life span as has been mentioned. If you are looking to find what will work for 600 yd. comp. I'd suggest looking over the equipment list of the different 600 yd. matches and see what is working/winning now. Just my 2 cents.

i have a 22-250 ai customer that i built on savage mod 12 he shoots 600yd & 1000yd. he did not fair well at 1000yd. but has placed in the top 5 already . i think his best group was 2.045 in 600yd ibs. now as of late he turned the gun over to his wife she shot the the world open at williamsport ,pa 1000yd. 12.500 ten shots and last weekend won the 600yd score with 174 took 3rd in group. with 80 gr berger.
