This years 100/200 IBS Group Nationals will be held at Holton Gun and Bow Club. Match dates are from 7-25-11 thru 7-30-11.
You can go to the IBS web site for the Match Schedule. http://internationalbenchrest.com/schedule/group.php
You can also go to the web site for the range and contact info. http://internationalbenchrest.com/ranges/usa_by_name.php
The range has excellent camping facilities with many restrooms and showers. If you are planning on camping please let me know with your registration form. Camping fees are $10.00 per day.
The Kitchen will be running breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the match. I'm pretty sure the ladies will even be running a few meals in the days before the match for those that come early to practice.
I will list several hotels that are within about 30 minutes of travel:

If you mention the range, the Harrington usually gives a discount. This is the closest and probably your best bet. This will most likely fill up quickly

The Shack is a really nice place right on the lake. Your spouses may enjoy this but it isn't free:p

If you want to enclose your match fees that is alright. I will not cash any personal checks until the beginning of the match. Checks should be made out to Holton Gun Club. A USPS money order is fine also.
Match fees are $50.00 per gun
Also, if you are planning on sponsoring a rotation of flags please give me that info with your registration form. Please include the names of shooters that you know are planning on shooting in your rotation. If you are planning on shooting on someones rotation please let me know that as well. It would be nice if we could get 8 full rotations of flags. If you are sharing equipment with another shooter please let me know this as well when you register.
I will ask Wilbur to post this as a sticky. I'm sure I have forgotten something, but I will edit or add additional posts to this thread as needed.

We're looking forward to a great match, see you guys there.

The last two years at Weikert there were about 25-35 (a guess) motor homes and larger travel trailers. What camping facility does Holton have, electric amperage of hookups, etc?
Remember, we blew the wires in two at Fairhchance and at Weikert the first year.

Holton is a campground that happens to have a rifle range attached. Holton has hosted 150 shooters with many of them camping on the site. That was before the addition of more benches too.
What do you care anyway? You have a hand crank phone, kerosene lamps, wood burning cook stove and out door toilet in those hills.

They have Bill Gammon and John Inman there, too. That alone is worth the price of admission. If the shooting isn't going well, there is a little lake, Lake Michigan, 30 miles to the west and you can charter a boat and go fishing for big ones.

I do not receive compensation from the Chamber of Commerce for this ad.

Jerry, and others, it's a trip that you'll remember for a long time.

Francis, I was really looking forward to coming up to shoot till you mentioned Gammon and Inman. Now I just don't know!!

Can I use my favorite fishing bait up there? Dynamite??

But thanks anyhoo!!

Hey FB you being tempted by the DARK side be careful people will talk.LOL

Jerry; About the electricity at Holton

There are a lot of electrical poles and circuits available at Holton, but ........ Most are 30 or 20 amp outlets. There are only 2 50 amp outlets that I am aware of, and I use one of them. Most people will have a hard time even finding them, so plan on having electricity, but also plan on only having 30 or 20 amps. Usually the weather in Michigan will be in the upper 80s during the day and will drop down to about 60 at night, so big time air conditioning may not be needed. It should be very similar to what you experience at the Super Shoot, which is a bit more southerly but also earlier in the year. If you have a rig with 2 AC units, you will either have to only run one unit or run your generator some. The whole electrical system at Holton is capable of sustaining a medium size crowd, but I do not know if it has been tested with a real large crowd. I believe it will safely handle a match with up to 150 shooters, but after that, I simply do not know. Maybe someone else from the club can also give some input here. One nice thing, if you do have to run a generator, there is usually a real nice area of separation between campers.

I hope this is helpful and somewhat accurate.

Sharing Bench and Loading Trailer??

Matt:
How many rotations due you expect??
4 of us are traveling together and would like to share flags and bench equipment if possible?
Is there electricity close to the range/firing line for loading trailers?
Thanks in advance for info.

Right now, we are planning on having 40 benches for the Nationals. # of relays will depend entirely on # of competitors. So, if we need 4 relays we will do that. When you send in the registration form please list the guys that want to share benches and equipment. Are all 4 of you wanting to use the same equipment? Electricity is not right at the line. Where I am hoping to place reloading trailers (not camping trailers), is about 100yd from the line. If you have a small generator for your reloading trailer, please bring it. I want to save the camping sites for people that are staying at the range.
