1/4 drive torque wrench?

My K-D inch pound torque wrench has failed!

I need a recommendation on a replacement.

Thank you.

I am satisfied with my NEIKO 03714A.

I purchased and then gave away a TEKTON 1/4 Inch Drive.
It only measured in one direction.

Not worth the trouble in often cramped places.

Thanks I should have stated I needed one that starts at 10 in lb.

I have a Capri Model CP21075 that's 10-50 in lbs. Screwdriver style with a t-handle that snaps into the back for the higher settings. I'm very pleased with it.

Snap On QTS135. Its range is 5-35 inlbs and is a screwdriver style with 1/4" ratchet type driver. Used frequently by aeronautical technicians. If it can fly planes....

action screws in a bedded benchrest hunter rifle for instance, 35 in lbs isn't enough.

On some of the drag race carbs we work with, the metering blocks are subject to warping and the 1/4-28 screws torque needs to be repeatable and accurate to prevent this. I picked up a Tekton TRQ21101 that is a dual-direction 10-150 lbs/in. range. Comparing it to a certified aircraft beam-style wrench, it's dead on the money.

Like a lot of tools, repeatability is as important as the absolute accuracy.

My 2 cents worth from the rainy, snowy, fly-over Northern Plains. -Al

Had a post up a few months ago about torque values for barrels and action screws and what he had learned about them over the years. I wrote them down somewhere but who knows where??? I do remember it being an interesting read.
