Kroil is at its best when cleaning carbon deposits from the bore. I use break free clp for light film lubrication and rust protection, on the firing pin spring a light coat of grease, mainly synthetic just because work provides it for free.
I don't own one but have shot it a bunch..." Tucker" converted Leupold BR 36, good glass, good shooter, good $ value, not too heavy, all around performer.
Phil,
Upon further consideration, I agree. You are right, doing a full composite aggregate would be living hell for the scoring official. I didn't consider all the other changes that would follow a scoring format change.
Mike
Counting shots on target for score when not all shots are present is flawed.
Marksmanship in pure form is about accuracy and precision. Our goal is to put the required number of shots at a desired location on the target; in this case it is 10 shots in the small concentric circles, preferabally...
What problem does this rule change proposal address? In every competition there does exist a penalty for missing the target, or not shooting where you are supposed to, say outside of the sighter box on an VFS target or outside the box on a group target.
Are the clubs trying to get away from having group matches? I heard one range Director make the comment last year, " hey, we are going to run score matches because the moving backer system is more trouble than its worth."
I'm not implying this to be common among ranges, I'm just wondering if...
Just as Charles explained, if the entire system is "almost right", it is wrong. Thats a harsh statement but very true.
Look into the used rifle market, especially those with tricked out Remington actions. Many competitors have started the game in a blue printed Remmy and built second or...
Jerry,
Just curious, are you hyper sensitive to other things like cologne, cooking smells or barbeque, diesel exhaust. Used to work with a guy who couldn't be around welding fumes, he got all plugged up like you're talking about.
Wolf= Federal Competitor
I have been shooting them in my PPC after discovering their benefit in the big gun stuff. I had to make some slight adjustments to pin protrusion and also seating pressure. I found that the Russian primers were a little harder to kick off than a Federal; I seat them...
Thanks for the explanation Jackie,
That sounds like good news. I hope the number and following of BR shooters, regardless of the discipline grows. Heck, I am committing to graduating up to railgun myself.
How come more ranges don't have multiple sanctioning? It seems that an IBS/NBRSA sanctioned range would be able to double chances for revenue, National matches, Regional matches, and basically everything BR.
I belong to both orginizations; are the ranges themselves allowed to belong to both...
Ever seen a 30 Dasher? Is the neck too short for the VFS type barrel/bullet set up? I see alot of 6 Dashers and they work really well for longer ranges.
Enjoyed shooting with you at SS.
