Freezing temps and primers & powder

Primers are packed to prevent mass detonation. The temperature inside an ammo can will be pretty far from uniform in a fire. There should be no real chance of a mass detonation.

    Cleaning Rods?

Never had a problem with coated Dewey rods. Use a bore guide and a correctly sized and thickness patch.

Using a bushing die as a seating die ?

Some of the smaller bench top style are not all that pricey. There are so many things you can do with even a smaller say 8 inch x 24 inch. For smaller shaft style items you can often limp with a floor mounted drill press. Rig up a bearing on the table to hold the off end of water you are...

What is the most accurate factory rifle you've owned?

At least some of it will come down to how you decide what is a "factory rifle." Is a rifle with a Panda action a 'factory rifle.'

    Darn Allenhead Bolts

Have you put a piece of shot (7-1/2 works well) under the set screw? That small piece of lead works very well.

Agree completely. Bondhus is nice and consistent. And not a lot of money for a set and a plastic keeper. Pays to shop around. $8 to around $25 for a set. Shorter sets are less expensive, and most com with ball ends on the long side. Very handy in crowded places.

Question about mounting base mount on a problem receiver.

Fill the holes and drill over. Simply screwing in a plug usually works fine. If there is ANY overlap with the desired new hole location be sure to use a center drill for the initial drilling of the 'new' hole. You want a ridged drill that will not be pulled off by the possible difference in...

    Darn Allenhead Bolts

You use the end that gives better clearance around the socket. Using the short end can get you increased leverage. The entire wrench is heat treated for hardness. If the wrench or recess are not correctly hardened you will quickly damage the softer piece.

    Whistle Pigs

WIKI "groundhog (Marmota monax), also known as a woodchuck" They stand up and look around when they hear a whistle. I use a police whistle when I have the gun on one that is munching. Blow, then fire on the standing target. And they love soybeans and will eat the beans and the rest of the plant.

    Darn Allenhead Bolts

The problem with a set screw into threads is that it typically ruin the threads in short order. Small changes in the thread position cannot be made. A pellet of 7-1/2 shot down the set screw hole goes a long way towards protecting the threads from damage. With undamaged threads you can make...

I hate to report Arnold Jewell has left the range

Good to know. I have never dealt with anyone at Jewell Trigger. A long time ago I purchased the Jewell BR trigger that is on my Varmint Rifle. I had used a Timney for a few months, and was looking for something better. I had developed a great load and the Panda action (Shilen Tube) was giving...
