    Walt Berger Passes

What a terrible shame. When I first met Walt I was impressed by how he took an interest in just everyone. He also had an enormous pile of candy on his loading benches that he handed out ad hoc to anyone passing by. Me included. And, by the end of the week I couldn’t believe it was all gone...

This is a hard post...about a friend & shooter passing

What terrible news to wake up to. I have been fortunate enough to shoot with Tom a few times. We first met at the Super Shoot some years back where he helped me out and last shot together at the Cactus this year where he helped me with all the stuff I had forgotten to bring from home! Both...

Lowell Hottenstein... Your Prayers Needed Now!

Very sad news indeed. However, it is as this time we should remember not what we have lost instead giving thanks for what we had. The New Zealand Benchrest community send their condolences and prayers to the Hottenstein family at this very difficult time. Peter Haxell

Many thanks Great shooting particularly to Gene Bukys. Fingers crossed the targets stand up to the test and are ratified as new world records. It really was something to witness. Congratulations. Congratulations also to the 12 people who made the US BR Teams and to all the alternates. My...

    TOP actions of the SS

Back to the original observation Calvin, An interesting observation. However, perhaps a more pertinent and telling question might be.... how many of those BAT's in the Top 20 were shot "au natural" as opposed to "doctored" by the many competent gunsmiths around the country? Peter

    Chippewa warmup match 19th-20th May

Hi Bill, Many thanks for the offer. Your fellow Canucks got back to me just a bit before you and have very kindly offered me a Farley which will work just fine for what I need. Your willingness to help however is much appreciated. Look forward to meeting you at Chippewa or at the SS. Kind...

    6PPC/N-133 loads

Agree with Gerry Hi Fishbone. Common N133 loads in Benchrest rifles are about 29.2 - 29.8gn with a 65-68gn pill. At the last Supershoot I saw people trying to keep up with the speed of light by loading 30.4gn and I know some others who lobbed the bullet to the target by shooting 27.8gn or...

Buckys mount system - screws needed

Don, Didn't realise that the length of cap screws are measured excluding the cap thus, the length of these screws are 5/8" and not 3/4". Been to all kinds of bolt shops over here and noone has anything in imperial sizing. Peter

Buckys mount system - screws needed

Thanks for your help guys, I think I have this sorted now. Lee, I don't have any contact details for Gene sorry. Kinda hoped someone could help me out with that. Pete, sounds like a good idea but like you, not that keen in making mods to something which looks nice as it is. Thanks for the info...

Buckys mount system - screws needed

Don Don Don Hey Don, I'm only shooting 30.4gn in this new barrel and can't get much more than that in the case - I think they are shrinking. You also got a hammer you can lend me? :-) My people tell me that those screws are 6-32 x 5/8". If you want to drop me a line: phaxell@xtra.co.nz is my...

Buckys mount system - screws needed

Hi guys, I need some new base screws for a Buckys mount system. The heads on mine are getting a bit worn after a lot of use and I can't do them up too well. This has resulted in the scope slipping on the bases during firing which don't help with accuracy. If anyone has any they wouldn't mind...
