    Some Benchrest Remembrances

Mine was at my first Nationals that was held at Millcreek. I was walking with a fellow shooter and we came upon Tony and Faye in the golf cart. We introduced ourselves and had a short conversation. He then reached over and tapped the rear of my butt stock. The roll in his eyes said it...

I guess If you were only going to use 1 screw to affix to the stock and leave the tang floating and loose. Let us know how it performs and Aggs out with the 1 screw. Calvin

30BR Bushing Bump Neck Sizing Die ?

Yes they are Bushing dies. And the brass so called bushing is a gauge to use for measuring shoulder bump with your verniers. Slip it over the neck and measure before sizing and after. Be careful on the fired primer if you have some cratering. I measure slightly off center of the primer...

30BR Bushing Bump Neck Sizing Die ?

As was said And Randy will say it over and over. There is only 1 Robinette reamer until his latest version #2. Any other reamer is NOT a Robinette. Many people have come up with there own versions. They may have used some of his print and then made one or 2 changes. That is NOT a...

30BR Bushing Bump Neck Sizing Die ?

The best thing I ever Did was consult with Al Nyhus and Randy R when spec'ng my 30BR reamer. I went with what was Randy's original 30BR and went with the changes he had shared numerous times on the Forums. This was from HIS ORIGINAL print with his recommendations. Randy has since come out...

    NBRSA & IBS founding dates

I should clarify This is not to open old blood wounds. Let's keep it above board. My term of disgruntled is meant to be some humor. I am asking as we are trying to gather notes to try and get some new shooters to the sport. So Steve, the NW, how old is the oldest recollections in the NW...

    NBRSA & IBS founding dates

Looking thru some info, I find that the NBRSA began in 1951 with the 1st Nat's in 1954. When did the disgruntled, LOL, walk away and form the IBS? What year? 1970? Just a simple question I hope. Calvin

    Bill Gammon, have a question 4 U

How far along have you got with the digitizing of the BRSC Magazine? I got discs from you that had Dec 75 to July79 and AuG 79 to April 94. You had mentioned you had some missing. Were able to get most of those or anymore missing? Another question, BRSC was established in 1973, correct...

What is the most accurate factory rifle you've owned?

For me Sako M995 in 30-06. Nothing done to it at all. 150 Nosler Ballistic tips with H4350 and 165 Nosler Partitions with RL 22, would print exactly same place with no scope adjustment. Sold it as stopped hunting. Bad move. Currently it is a Rem 700 Tactical. Only change is a Jewell HVR...

    West Texas Rail Gun

Glenn My line to people who come in the store asking for ammo or reloading components is exactly the same thing even though we are in Canada. The issue started about 14 years ago with an election in the US. People say what did that have to do with it then I explain it to them. The sad part...

Bullet diameter - How big is too big? 30 BR

Unless You spec a reamer with a FAT back end. I did just that. No matter how much lube I used on the case I got that god awful chatter of the press trying to size the cases. I called Harrels and asked them to send me 2 more dies. A #2 and a #2.5 I should have just went with the 2. That...

    Threaded tuner for CZ 457

I have An adapter being made to fit the 1/2x20 threads that I will be able to try a Beggs tuner on it. I have a few kicking around so why not see if they do anything. Likely guys thinking WTF, it is just a CZ. Hey, does not hurt to see if it will do anything.

    Threaded tuner for CZ 457

They do BUT it is a 1/2 x 28. The CZ 457 Varmint at least the one sold in Canada is 1/2x 20. I cannot believe that CZ uses 2 different threads for the threaded muzzles...... Calvin

    Threaded tuner for CZ 457

Just curious. I just picked up a 457 Varmint. Since I am not a machinist I am wondering if anyone has made or thought about making a tuner that could thread onto the threads on the barrel? It is not a custom rifle but I thought it would be neat to try and see the effect it may have on it...
