Who did these modifications on a Leupold?

Thank you for your answers; we thought this wasn't done by a reputable and experienced gunsmith

Who did these modifications on a Leupold?

We got this Leupold from an estate; the turrets are blocked by those Delrin screws but if anybody recognises the 'handicraft', that would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Should have a lot more vertical

Well, I am ashamed to admit that as I didn't have much time that day I didn't bring the Labradar. I agree with your analysis and I thought I could assume the same cases, load, etc. would produce the same effects, stress on assume! There is a medium size match coming up and I have decided to...

Should have a lot more vertical

My holding point is 12 o'clock on the bull. The sighter shots were not sighter shots but a group with a different load. I shot at 200m this morning, sames cases; the ones with the Column didn't show any vertical but quite a bit of horizontal, normal with the wind today. I loaded again with Euber...

Should have a lot more vertical

"I have 11 chronographs ranging from Magnetospeed to a pair of Oehler 43's." I had been thinking of taking my Oehler out of retirement to check it along the Labradar; I already sold the Magnetospeed. I could do that when trying OliveOil's suggestion of shooting a dedicated case 5 times in a row...

Should have a lot more vertical

I always thought that if it was well stabilized at 100, it should still be good at 200; your remarks give me pause for thoughts. And I will try the same set-up at 200. Yet, what still bothers me is why such gap in velocities when I took care of checking as many parameters in the cases as I...

Should have a lot more vertical

This is helpful Thank you for your post. I'll check it at 200. Your theory seems to fit the facts and answers my questions.

Should have a lot more vertical

Sorry, I can't turn the picture upright, but my question is why not a lot more vertical? I was shooting a LV Krieger 6PPC barrel, Berger Column, moly coated, on top of 29.8gr of V 133 at 100 meters. Wind was about 2.5 m/s from 1 to 3 o'clock with occasional gusts at 5 m/s. As I was testing the...

    Looking for an Edge

A French long time BR shooter is looking for an Edge stock, without inletting. Message sent to McMillan and Bruno were not answered: I am asking the community on his behalf where to go to buy one and have it shipped to France. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Lock Ease and moly

"skip all metalic brushes" Yes, I quite agree and have used hard nylon brushes for years. The oversized bronze brush is only to get rid of the carbon ring.It makes sure it doesn't go into the lands.

    Lock Ease and moly

OliveOil: Thanks, food for thought. I have used Flitz several times but found that it would take up to 4 or 5 bullets to stabilize the barrel, as it were, and get back the expected level of precision. So I tend to err on the conservative side during a match and will put through a patch of Carbon...

    Lock Ease and moly

Thanks. Actually, the reason for my question was also that contrary to Moly which is mostly shed in the first few cm as the bearing surface of the bullet gets rid of it due to friction, the Lock Ease is deposited all along the barrel by the patch. Joyeuses Pâques to you too!

    Lock Ease and moly

Thanks. I'll keep the Lock Ease out of the bench rest molycoated barrels and use it in my two Lee Enfields.

    Lock Ease and moly

I am aware of the benefits of patching with a little drop of Lock-Ease after cleaning a barrel (6PPC) with 'bare' bullets. But I have been a member of that shrinking minority who molycoats their bullets for a number of years. My question: does molycoating provide the same benefits as Lock-Ease...
