ARA March 8th at Emerald Empire, in Orygun

We shall commence the season with an ARA 6-card match on March 8th. Shooting starts at 9 am. Starbuck's coffee and Cal's donuts will be served, a combination tuned for the discriminating palate. The prudish board members of the club have nixed my proposal for beer and lap-dancing girls...

    Sako stock

Have you tried McMillan? I believe that they sell McMillan stocks, or something like that. Don Stith sells BR stocks inletted for Sako Finnfires. Mike Turner does too, if you can scare him up. So many options. Good luck, Ben

    My friends, Kathy

Based on your node theory, I'll WAG that it allows the sine waves to continue through the length of the barrel into the tuner, and the adjustability lets you place the point of least/no motion at the muzzle, while the tuner itself will still wiggle 'n' jiggle from the continued sine wave disco.

    My friends, Kathy

Can a muzzle device that is located either flush, or behind the muzzle perhaps in mid-barrel area, either tighten or loosen groups? If the groups in fact do change from flush or mid-barrel weights, what does that say about the muzzle?

New Discussion.....So lets hear your BR related plans for 08.

Hope Springs Eternal: I asked Mr. Myers to put a new 2-groove 1:16 Benchmark on my sporter, and he did.

Hey Fred, if you are still looking for Biathlon drop me an email or PM.

    Eley Biathlon

I don't think it is in their current product line. I still have the last I was able to buy, it shoots well in my Benchmark barrel. It was boxed with a blue label and says Biathlon EPS. Different speeds were available, I tested several lots. I have no idea how the measured velocity compares...

    what is the new trend

I am developing a bloop tube with an adjustable tuner on the far end. It increases leverage. I call it the breaker-tuner. It moves the node out to a theoretical point n-dimensional space, which drastically reduces buffeting from the Johnson-Peabody grasping corollary.

    New Tenex has damage...

The question to me is whether the mirage is a valid indication of moving air that will screw up my bullet's flight, i.e. Guerin's "wind that you can see". Since it seems that mirage is only visible at the focal plane the scope is set at, which is generally at the destination point, estimates of...

Mid barrel tuners Vs Barrel Tuners

The idea is that the muzzle is supposed to be stilled by the tuner, not the barrel. I expect that is what Dan meant to write. IIRC, Kathy writes that the barrel vibrates like a sine wave. The tuner is supposed to place the muzzle at a "node" in the sine wave, probably at the very top or very...

    Barrel De-Resonaator

I've observed a slight improvement based on testing the various locations of the item upon the barrel, and the differences were repeatable. I did not do rigorous on vs. off comparisons in the same day, and really should. I did not have enough room for the weight of a Heinrich, and that is why...

    Ruger 77/22 bore guide help

Mike Lucas would be a good bet. The delrin guide I had from Sinclair was terrible.

    New Tenex has damage...

I guess that is my point. If the mirage is bad enough that you can see it in a 6x scope, there must really be some hopping air action downrange. If mirage is just an optic phenomenon that does not equate to point-stealing, bullet-moving air movement, it's just something to endure or ignore...

Ha! I hear if you tap them and listen with a stethoscope they'll tell you which way is best.

What Happened to RBA? what will happen?

There are some seriously pissed off MDs on the West Coast, and I'm NOT one of them. All of those whom I know are nice fellows. Instead of RBA inner ring of good ol boys circling the wagons for a standoff, I'd sure like to see some phone calls be made. I like the target a lot, and would like...

    New Benchrest Shooters

Call the MD if you can. They usually have extra gear that you can use to have a good time on your first go. Few of us (I don't know of any) had all the basics on their first go. I'd also recommend you go and shoot. It's a participant game, and ain't much of a spectator sport. Best luck and...

What Happened to RBA? what will happen?

Paul, I hope you'll reconsider. If I don't get another of my twice annual chances to shoot over "The Pit" this season, I'll likely give up the ghost. :)

    2 groove barrels.

They shoot great, as a rule. How well does that one shoot, in particular?
