    Cleaning Rods?

I have one of the carbon Tipton rods, but haven't gotten to use it yet.

carbon build up in 30 BR barrel

I have found Flitz on a patch/nylon brush to be the most effective/least aggressive carbon cleaner I have ever used. It works better than JB, and is less abrasive than Iosso by a bit, and not even in the same league as Rem 40x Bore Cleaner.

Using a bushing die as a seating die ?

I would use a bushing the same size as my bore, like .236 for a 6mm.

    Neck turning difficulty

I ran into those very same issues when I did my cases. I neck turn for everything, so this procedure wasn't new to me, and I had done my 30BR brass so I didn't anticipate having much difficulty. Before I was done, I had to resharpen the tool and polish the mandrel to keep it working right. My...

    Benchrest History Thread

Out of curiosity I went and searched ebay to see if anyone had some of these editions available. Lucked out as someone was selling a full brand new set. I find it interesting that some of the things mentioned in that are still relevant, some have been surpassed, and some old wives tales that...

    Brass Resizing Question

I'm doing the same thing for 2 different rifles, and it's been a challenge. Rifle 1 is a 2 lug BAT Model B, and the 2nd is a 3 Lug BAT. Both rifles came with Dies. Redding Body dies, and a Bushing neck die. I also have 2 Harrell's FL dies, a "0" and a #4. With this many dies and adjustments and...

Need a few opinions on BR equipment

I just wanted to update this thread. After searching for another stock to get this rifle up and going before the year was over and having no luck at all, I was able to have a local woodworker make some changes that I wanted and give it a shot. To recap, the buttstock was crooked, offset from...

Yeah, I have bought from them twice and had no issues at all.

Adding weight to a firing pin

It's a variable that if someone with a tunnel was really interested, he might find some gains. Unless you're having a serious ignition problem it's probably not worth doing more than just speculating on it. Heavier springs will make more vibration, and so will a heavier pin, but it will also...

    Ginex Primers

That's why I bought 5000 at a time. It was 42.50 flat fee no matter the quantity.

    Ginex Primers

I didn't do a specific development with them, but tested against 5 other primers they were 3rd best. I liked them enough to buy 10K. Even though they fit tight, I had no problems seating them with the Sinclair tool.

    Ginex Primers

I have some in the small rifle version. They fit very tight, and work well. The only negative I heard was that the really high loads in 6PPC will have them pierce, but they work really well with .30BR loads. I ran 29.1grs of LT=32 with them and had no problems, and that's a rather stiff load of...

Need a few opinions on BR equipment

Thanks for all the replies and advice guys! Since I have a mix of conventional buttstocks and flat bottomed stocks, I'm going to get another bag that will work with them both. The flat bottom stocks are both wood, so they could be modified, but if I get a glass stock in the same style, I will be...

Need a few opinions on BR equipment

Short range, score and UBR. I'm using a 6PPC and finishing up a .30BR that needs a stock put on it. I have a rifle to start doing some 600yd to 1000yd shooting as well, but I need to sort out this gun handling issue before I start messing with that gun. I want to thank you guys for the...

Need a few opinions on BR equipment

Is a flat bottomed buttstock or a conventional V style buttstock preferred by most shooters? My stock is flat, and I'm not sure it's working that well. Pros and Cons of the Stop on the front rest. Some people seem fairly adamant about not using it. Regular sand or Heavy in the front bag?

Which dies to use for short range BR in 6PPC?

I'm using a Harrell's FL bushing die, and a Redding seater.

    Newbie questions

I just started with a PPC a couple months ago also. Not new to reloading, so finding a good load wasn't much of a problem. Get some N133 and/or LT-32, some Bart's 68gr bullets and you will be on your way. The biggest learning curve for me was being able to set up the rest and rear bag in a...
