How did I get there (my story)

From my understanding, distance between subsequent shots, or hit to hit, have to be measure from center to center. Lapua does metric measurements, so 3.82mm is not enough to be outer edge to outer edge, because bullet diameter is 5.60mm. A 3.89mm CtC is for a .22lr a 9.42mm group size (outer to...

How did I get there (my story)

Thank you for clarifying. So, being hit to hit, is the same as center to center. 3.82 DHH, equals 9.42mm group (CTC+2*5.6/2), which is a great 10 shot group.

How did I get there (my story)

Lee, that group (11mm group ammo / 5.92mm vertical spread) is for 30 shot. My best ever ammo I must say... On your picture, I do believe DHHmax could mean max height from center to center, and being 3.82 is a very nice value. Being only a 10 shots group, it had be confirmed by at least another...

Don't know about yours test center, but here the measures are corrected to .220 bullet size (5.6mm)

How did I get there (my story)

I'm at Germany Lapua test center. Now they have a new software. It's quite different from the previous Meyton. And I see now what do you mean by vertical aggregates around 12~14mm, instead of Meyton ones 8~10mm. That's because the software is measuring different things. Meyton measured the...

How did I get there (my story)

Larry, it depends how well is your rifle tuned. I do believe yours are all at the spot, so, not much can be achieved regarding a specific group height. That's why I say fine tune the rifle and then look for the smallest height possible. When all is et, group height is more related to velocity...

Change in rimfire BR over the last 10 years

No worries Tim, that's the wonder of a healthy discussion... You brought to the table couple of interesting subjects. 1. Even with no costs we struggle to get more people on BR 2. We are loosing shooters because of cost Regarding 1), I can give my family example, my sons, having all for free...

Change in rimfire BR over the last 10 years

Great to have Mike also in this thread... I think we put much emphasis on cost. If cost was to be an issue, no Karting, motorbike, or boat racing, just to name a few, were declining. Maybe cost/reward ratio is the key. Around the same ammo cost, ISSF, IPSC and PRS, are growing too, so I'll take...

Change in rimfire BR over the last 10 years

Fantastic thread, and I do hope our world federations will start thinking about future... I said thinking, not just talking... you know what I mean. I'm not shooting BR for so long, just 7 years, but I did saw a lot of changes. Tony has much more knowledge and experience about that matter, and...

How did I get there (my story)

Interesting point... In fact, too much liquid brings more trouble than benefits... I use the regular 4oz. bottle and put 2~3 drops on a patch. Rimfire blend immediately soaks the patch, however, being more oily, carbon remover tend to be more hard on it. Just rub the bottle nozzle against the...

Larry, in fact it could be more clear. Sometimes we are so used to the words, that we don't realise others could not fully understand what we mean. Thank for flagging out. One turn means, one full revolution turn. I tend to use the zero as a starting point, but doesn't matter, it's personal...

    Flyers…?

Some brands are more affected than others. And within the same brand, different products can also present different percentages of harder to feed cartridges. At practice I shoot them for score, and seldom do they produce a flyer. However, at a match, I do always sighters when such a cartridge...

How did I get there (my story)

Larry, I use a front scope mount on all my rifles but sporters. The pics with a traditional mount come from Tony when he was still preparing the rifle. The case is a Peli Air 1745. Interior foam (Sealey SF30R) cut by me.

How did I get there (my story)

The other rifle, the "centrada", is a Turbo by Calfee made for Tony Harper. The former TD. Later I bought it from Tony, but needed to fit a new barrel on it. That's a Shilen ratchet "5 match grade, fitted by Martino of GAC. Both rifles are matched in terms of score ability. I pick one or the...

How did I get there (my story)

This is the rifle everyone talks about... Tony provided me a very nice Rotex stock (in red) including a personalised end plate. Unfortunately the Rotex is too heavy for LV weight, so I borrow the "centrada" stock, a KSS straight-line in Ferrari Modena yellow. There's also one of my cases to...
