Al.....Most my roads are not traveled, and that's the point. I always have this need to till new soil,
and kick a few cans.

So just in case, and for you 30 BR guy's.....What is your next best loved powder faster then N-130 ??

Nothing special and used the first run of bullets that already has a revision.
I topped out with the 92 grain bullet and N-130. Max fill and at touch let me hit
3210 fps, and no bolt lift, primers in good shape, and the case just about fell
out of the chamber. The revised bullet is at 89 grains but will continue with the
92's for the basic tests. Just hunting speed. I'm confidant I could hit 3300 with a
tighter neck, and further into the lands.....Note that solids don't jam as deep as a
lead core bullet will. Other then that, I set no flags, and it got windy. First 3 shot
group at 3090 did a .220"......Not too shabby for fire forming ?? At least now I
have a bit more case capacity to push the N-130. Might have a window this
afternoon to get back out......Have to think about another powder also.....

I imagine with a solid bullet that testing different diameters to match what your barrel likes would really pay off. I like to try different ideas as well. They don't always work out, but I always learn something from them. I shoot a tighter twist barrel than probably anyone else in SRBR, and it has it's merits, but it also has kind of backed me into a corner. My next barrels will all be 13.65-13.5 gain twist Bartleins. I've experimented long enough lol.

Bartlein Gain twist are good barrels. Had 2 of them. Won 2 Gun Sept 2016 and in 2017 almost beat Ted Handelsman by .0033.
Both barrels took off at 700 rnds. Strangest thing. Groups dropped in half.

Long day.....Kicking back in my chair going over the events of the day. Some good,
some very troublesome. The Pa. Tack Driver lite is one week away, and I really want
to shoot this new endeavor......Range is only 4 miles from my new digs, so going back
and forth is good. First session was to take out the 7.2 Greedmore to make sure the
back up was ready. I don't like this new DR bag with the slick covering, and failed to
bring my old DR. I'll shoot free recoil, but the new bag is too slick for the 7.2. Had to
finish up using a hard hold. Felt awkward......The solids are coming along but I will note
they do not like any kind of jam in this zero freebore chamber. Played with some .010"
off during fire forming. Had some getting into the low two's with vertical. Anything on
the horizontal were generally high threes. Light wind......Ether way, it's just fire forming.
I have enough cases to have a better look now. Weather will be the major problem
now.......Yinz have a good Memorial day weekend. I'm going to take a break from this
and spend some time smoking some beef and pork in the big cooker. Alcohol may be
involved......LOL

Going over things and packing up. the Pa Tack Driver Lite is this Saturday, Leaving
in the morning then get there to set up and feed lunch to the early crew. I have a
load that I feel good about. Just wish my reamer would have been here a month
ago. Going to be a very tough crowd with 60 shooters. Rod Morton who cleaned
house last year will be back with his buddy Joe Stewart. And of course Jeremiah
Keefe and Mike Redin......It is what it is.

Side note.....That 89 gr solid of mine just broke 3300 fps with a decent target and a
reasonable SD. I can not get anymore powder in the case using N-130 even if I used
a ball peen hammer.....LOL.
